At first glance, these two pictures appear completely identical.
A man and woman stand together in the rain.
They’re smiling beneath a large red umbrella, surrounded by falling raindrops and cloudy weather.
Nothing seems unusual.
But somewhere in these two illustrations, one tiny detail is different.
Can you find it?
There’s Only One Difference
Your challenge couldn’t sound simpler:
Compare the two pictures and find the one thing that has changed.
But don’t let that simple instruction fool you.
The difference has been placed somewhere that’s easy to overlook, especially when your brain keeps telling you that both pictures are identical.
Before continuing, give yourself a few moments to examine the image carefully.
Have you noticed anything yet?
Start With the Umbrella
The bright red umbrella immediately attracts attention, making it a good place to begin your search.
Compare its shape.
Look at the edges.
Examine the handle and the different sections of the umbrella.
Then move outward.
Don’t assume the most noticeable object must contain the answer, though.
The difference could be somewhere much less obvious.
Look at the Rain and Clouds
Now examine the background.
Compare the clouds between the two pictures.
Then look carefully at the falling rain.
A single missing or altered detail can be surprisingly difficult to detect when the rest of an image remains unchanged.
Instead of trying to absorb everything at once, compare one small area before moving to the next.
