Three adorable grey cats are sitting side by side.
At first glance, they appear identical.
Each has grey fur, large eyes, a red collar, a golden bell, and a curled tail.
But look again.
One of these three cats is different.
Your challenge is to decide whether it’s Cat 1 on the left, Cat 2 in the middle, or Cat 3 on the right.
Don’t rush. The difference could be hiding in one tiny detail.
Start With the Ears
Instead of staring at all three cats at once, compare one feature at a time.
Begin with their ears.
Are they exactly the same size and shape?
Does one contain a line, angle, or marking that the other two don’t?
Visual puzzles often hide differences in places our eyes initially dismiss as unimportant.
Move Down to the Eyes
Next, compare all six eyes.
Check their shapes and the positions of the pupils.
Does one cat appear to be looking in a slightly different direction?
Don’t examine Cat 1 completely before moving to Cat 2.
Instead, compare the same feature across all three cats. This makes small inconsistencies easier to notice.
Count the Whiskers
Whiskers are easy to overlook.
Check both sides of each cat’s face.
Does every cat have the same number?
Is one whisker shorter, missing, or pointing in a different direction?
The answer may be hidden in a detail you’ve already looked at several times without actually noticing.
